The Student Representative Council of Jesselton College organized a charity event to raise funds for Pusat Kebajikan Care Haven
On the 16th July 2016, the Student Representative Council of Jesselton College organized a charity event to raise funds for Pusat Kebajikan Care Haven, an orphanage located at Likas. Pusat Kebajikan Care Haven is a charity organization that provides information, assistance, and advisory service in the proper care of orphans.
In its second year, “We Care Acoustic Show 2.0†is a charity event where local bands and artists perform in support of Care Haven. The event was held at Party Play Gaya Street, who generously sponsored their premise as the event venue.
A few local bands performed in the 3 hours event that started at 2 p.m in a Saturday afternoon. Excitingly, one of the bands – Just36 also comprised of staff and students of Jesselton College who showcased their amazing talents. The audience were captivated by the beautiful rendition of songs by the bands and at the same time enjoyed a wonderful choice of drinks and snacks from Party Play.
The main purpose of this event is to bring forward the ability of Jesselton College to be involved in society positively and to build mutual professional relationships. It promotes and shows the ability of our community to share kindness, sincerity and gain blessings in the matter of doing charity. Besides that, it also allows students to gather, build and strengthen friendships with one another as well as amongst the local talents.
Most of the proceeds from the event went to Care Haven; the rest for Party Play as a sign of goodwill for sponsoring the venue. The Student Representative Council of Jesselton College greatly appreciates the efforts from all parties involved in order to make this event a success and looks forward to another impactful charity event in the near future.
