One of the most anticipated events, the Jesselton College 3 on 3 Streetball competition was held on the 28th to 31st May 2016 at the frontage parking area of City Mall, Kota Kinabalu.


One of the most anticipated events, the Jesselton College 3 on 3 Streetball competition was held on the 28th to 31st May 2016 at the frontage parking area of City Mall, Kota Kinabalu. Organized by Jesselton College and co-organized by UGBC, 45 teams comprising of secondary schools and colleges from all over Sabah competed for the attractive prizes being offered. The competition has three categories i.e. Male (secondary school), Male (colleges) and Female, and was divided into morning and afternoon sessions. The drawings of group stage for the competition were held earlier on the 14th May 2016.

In the opening ceremony, Dr. Elaine Kong, faculty member of Jesselton College gave a motivational speech to kick start the competition while all the participants were geared up and prepared for the unprecedented event in Kota Kinabalu, Sabah. After that, committee member of UGBC, Mr. Iverson Wong welcomed all participants and gave a stern reminder regarding safety in the competition to prevent any unnecessary injuries. To spice up the opening ceremony, two students from Jesselton College – Ng Ket Chung and Ho Hock Seng performed slam dunks and heated up the crowd.

After a total of 84 games, the competition finally reached its climax whereby 6 of the best teams competed for the grand prize in last day of the event. The main events featuring Under 18 Category (male), College Category (male) as well as Female Category, attracted a huge crowd who thoroughly enjoyed the performance and skills being shown by the best teams in the whole event. Even the bad weather during the event days did not dampen the spirit of the competitors.

Results of Jesselton College 3 on 3 Streetball:

The grand champion of male category, Under 18 and College walked away with RM1000 cash and RM500 Grace One gift vouchers while the first and second runners-up received RM500 and RM300 cash respectively together with RM300 and RM200 Grace One gift vouchers. For the female category, the grand champion received RM800 cash and RM500 Grace One gift vouchers whereas the first and second runners-up obtained RM300 and RM200 cash respectively together with RM300 and RM200 Grace One gift vouchers.

    European University - Jesselton College Commencement 2017 Commencement at Cordis Hong Kong at Langham Place Jesselton College Sabah’s partner institution, European University, held its 2017 commencement ceremony at Cordis Hong Kong at Langham Place on 21 April 2017. A total of 127 graduates from Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, Philippines and Hong Kong received their academic scrolls from the President of European University Business School, Dr. Dirk Craen witnessed by the Kota Kinabalu mayor, Datuk Yeo Boon Hai. A total of 69 were awarded Bachelor of Business Administration, with 18 from Jesselton College. Another 35 international graduates received their Masters while 22 their PhD. European University-Jesselton College partnership European University is a triple-accredited tertiary institution with campuses in Barcelona, Geneva, Munich, and Montreux. The academic partnership between Jesselton College and EU was approved by the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA), allowing students to complete a Bachelor’s degree in business administration at Jesselton College. This program helps substantially decrease student expenditure, thus promoting Malaysia as a hub of tertiary education.
