The Middlesex journey began in the late 19th century, with the founding of eight independent colleges and training institutions in London. Five of these institutions came together in 1973 to form Middlesex Polytechnic, with others joining in later years.
In 1992 Middlesex Polytechnic became Middlesex gained the University status by royal assent, and from that time Middlesex has continued to grow, both in London and internationally.
In 2005 Middlesex opened its first international campus in Dubai. The success of the Dubai campus led to the opening of the Mauritius campus, which began teaching in 2010, and the Malta campus, which opened in 2013.
Middlesex is the first British university campus in Mauritius, delivering quality, award-winning education to both local and international students.
Middlesex Mauritius alumni are now part of a worldwide community of successful Middlesex graduates who make vital contributions to the societies in which they live and work.
