Jesselton Collegeâ€™s Prom Night 2014 took place at Blue Lagoon, Sutera Harbour Marina Golf & Country Club. This yearâ€™s prom was an Alice in Wonderland theme, dubbed â€œMadnessâ€. In September, after months of preparation, the night finally welcomed the arrival of its guests donning costumes and attractive makeups. The guests took their time posing and taking photos with costumes such as Alice, Red Queen, Mad Hatter, Tweedle Dee, Tweedle Dum and so on.
Before long, the night officially started with a welcoming speech by the Prom Committeeâ€™s representative, Chung Li whom thanked the guests especially the guest of honour Dr. Fred Chin, CEO of Jesselton College, for taking their time out from their busy schedules to attend the event. Prof. Vincci, Head of Academic also gave a speech thanking the generous sponsors as well as the committee members on their hard work preparing and transforming the area for the night. After that, token of appreciations were also handed out to all the sponsors of the event.
The elegant looking Olivia and funny man Ijan were the emcees for the night, promising many favorable performances and featured a guest live band who entertained the audience with their wonderful rendition of songs.
The night was also a great opportunity for students to showcase their many hidden talents. The students showed off their dancing talents with a few K-Pop dance routines and their vocals with renditions of songs. To the delight of many, faculty members were also invited to perform a few songs.
As the night reached its climax, there was also the crowning of the Best Dressed King and Queen of the night, which went to Noel and Liz. Mr. Alan Chong, Director of Business Development was invited on stage to present their crowns. The King and Queen were also invited to the dance floor for a formal dance.
Later in the night, the organizing members surprised the audience with a flash mob as they danced to the tune of â€œI Like to Move Itâ€. Then, guests were also promptly persuaded to join in the fun and hit the dance floor. After that, the prom night slowly drew to a close and guests were once again invited to the floor and dance the night away.
