Course Information

The Bachelor of Psychology program offers a comprehensive understanding of the human mind and behavior, equipping students with theoretical knowledge and practical skills essential for a career in psychology or related fields. Through a blend of classroom lectures, practical workshops, research projects, and field placements, students will explore various domains of psychology, including cognitive, social, developmental, clinical, and organizational psychology.

Entry Requirements

The entrance qualification for this programme (according to Program Standard Psychology, 2nd Edition) are as follows:

  1. A pass in STPM with a minimum of Grade C (GP 2.00) in any two (2) subjects; OR 
  2. A pass in STAM with a minimum grade of Jayyid; OR
  3. A Certificate in Matriculation or Foundation with a minimum CGPA of 2.00 out of 4.00; OR 
  4. A Diploma (Level 4, MQF) in any field with at least CGPA of 2.00 out of 4:00; OR 
  5. A Diploma Kemahiran Malaysia (DKM) / Diploma Lanjutan Kemahiran Malaysia (DLKM) / Diploma Vokasional Malaysia (DVM) subjected to HEP Senate / Academic Board’s approval**. The HEPs are required to conduct screening and provide appropriate bridging courses in Mathematics and Science; OR 
  6. An Advanced Diploma (Level 5, MQF) in the relevant fields with at least CGPA of 2.00 out of 4:00; OR 
  7. Other relevant equivalent qualifications recognised by Malaysian government as equivalent to the above requirements.
 

Notes: *All the above qualifications need to be supported with at least credits in Mathematics and Biology/ Physics/ Chemistry/ General Science/ Applied Science and a pass in English at SPM level) (Refer to the notes (*) below this table).

Further Studies

In the final year, students will complete a capstone project under the supervision of a faculty member. This project allows students to integrate their knowledge and skills acquired throughout the program and conduct original research in an area of interest within psychology.
