Jesselton University College (JUC) proudly publishes its Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Progress Report 2023–2024, reaffirming its long-term commitment to advancing the 2030 Agenda through impactful and transparent higher education practices. This publicly accessible report provides detailed evidence of institutional efforts across multiple SDGs, showcasing programmes, partnerships, policies, and outcomes aligned with sustainable development in Malaysia and beyond.
The report highlights key initiatives under core focus areas including SDG 1 (No Poverty), SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 17 (Partnerships for the Goals). These include inclusive admission schemes for B40 students, provision of free vocational training to underserved communities, gender-inclusive academic policies, women’s mentoring schemes, free childcare services, and multi-stakeholder collaborations addressing workforce and social equity.
Designed as an accountability tool and knowledge-sharing platform, the SDG Report serves not only to document annual achievements, but also to identify areas for continuous improvement. The publication strengthens JUC’s strategic alignment with national priorities such as the Sabah Maju Jaya (SMJ) development plan, and supports Malaysia’s efforts toward a sustainable, inclusive future through education.
JUC remains committed to publishing annual SDG reports, ensuring that all data, policies, and initiatives are transparently documented, measurable, and publicly accessible. The 2023–2024 report is now available on the official university website as part of our effort to promote institutional accountability and continuous progress toward the 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
