Jesselton University College is pleased to announce the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with The Sabah Society, marking the beginning of a collaborative journey towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
This partnership is poised to foster community outreach programs, activities, and research initiatives aimed at addressing critical issues aligned with the SDGs, such as poverty alleviation, hunger eradication, quality education, and the reduction of inequality.
Prof. Dato’ Dr. Chin Yuk Fong, President of Jesselton University College, emphasized the significance of this MOU, stating, “This Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signifies our commitment to working together towards the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).”
Furthermore, this collaboration aligns seamlessly with the Sabah State government’s ambitious initiative, Sabah Maju Jaya, which places a strong emphasis on the holistic development of agriculture, tourism, industry, human capital, people’s welfare, and green sustainability. Jesselton University College is fully dedicated to contributing to the achievement of these goals, ultimately benefiting the Sabah community.
Datuk Dr. Heng Aik Cheng, President of The Sabah Society, expressed enthusiasm about this partnership, stating, “We are excited to embark on this journey with JUC as the launch of TSS Youth Wing. Together, we can make a significant difference in advancing the SDGs in our region.”
