Ranau District, Sabah – Jesselton University College (JUC) is thrilled to share the success of its recent sponsorship of the Storytelling Competition Ranau District 2023, organized by the University Malaysia Sabah (UMS). This event not only showcased the exceptional storytelling talents of primary and secondary school students but also aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), particularly in the areas of quality education and poverty alleviation.
Held on November 25, 2023, the Storytelling Competition was a platform for emerging young talents to shine. JUC played a pivotal role in making the event a remarkable success, reinforcing its commitment to supporting initiatives that empower and inspire the next generation.
JUC generously provided RM1500 in cash prizes, recognizing and rewarding the outstanding storytellers. The winners not only received recognition for their storytelling skills but also earned monetary rewards, which can be instrumental in alleviating financial constraints for the participants’ families.
In addition to the cash prizes, JUC contributed hampers, adding a delightful touch to the event. These hampers were presented as tokens of appreciation for the participants’ dedication and creativity. Furthermore, one of the event’s significant highlights was JUC’s awarding of 13 scholarships to deserving participants. These scholarships open doors to higher education, promoting quality education and advancing the academic pursuits of the young talents.
