Policy Effective: 2024
We believe that lifelong learning is a fundamental right, not a privilege. In support of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, particularly SDG 4 (Quality Education), SDG 5 (Gender Equality), and SDG 10 (Reduced Inequalities), JUC has established a Lifelong Learning Access Policy to ensure that our educational opportunities are inclusive, equitable, and accessible to all members of society.
This policy guarantees that access to all lifelong learning programmes, whether offered on a programmed or ad hoc basis, is open to the general public and free from discrimination. We welcome participation from individuals of all backgrounds, including those from underrepresented or vulnerable groups such as women, elderly learners, B40 income groups, immigrants, persons with disabilities, and indigenous communities.
JUC’s programmes are intentionally designed to reduce barriers to participation. Training sessions are offered in various formats (in-person, online, hybrid), with flexible scheduling and no formal education prerequisites. All courses are publicly advertised via official university channels to ensure full transparency and outreach.
To uphold accessibility and engagement, we provide key support services that may include:
• Fee waivers or subsidies for low-income learners
• Free hostel and transport access for selected groups
• Learning accommodations for individuals with disabilities
• Translation or language support for non-native speakers
• Academic mentoring and skills coaching
• Free digital access to e-learning platforms
• Mental health and personal development support
This policy is reviewed periodically by the university’s Board of Governor to ensure continued relevance and alignment with both national needs and international standards.
